Factions

Temples, secret societies, colleges, government-run agencies, guilds can all run and have there own factions to interact with the world in ways they see fit based on their own belief systems. This is a place where you can find what each organization's goals are and where they are located (If a headquarters exists)

Order of Magven Knights of Antemosyne Order of the Silver Sword Greed

Order of Magven

This order was put in place by the High King Nyvorilas Del Morcan. Ran by a council of nine very powerful mages. One for each school of magic, they together decide how the faction operates.

The Magvens main role is to keep a record of all magic users and give licenses to those allowed to practice magic. Aside from this fairly mundane task, many of the members spend their time tracking down magic items, spells, and the occasional miscreants who are unauthorized to use magic.

They have two separate ranking systems within the order, one for those who use magic and another for those who do not. The order prefers members who do know how to use magic, but they also see the use of those who are bound by the restraints of their own bodies. The ranks do not coincide, however.

For example, an Acolyte and an Initiate are in the same order of rank but the Acolyte is considered to be of a higher rank in all matters concerning the arcane.
The same does not ring true out in the field, for the Initiate would take command.
This system continues up through the ranks.

Each member is given a black book to record magic items, users, where they are from, where they are, and their risk level from 0 (not at all) to 10 (very dangerous). This information is sent to a master manuscript held in the Black Observatory. A large tower out in the cities bay made of solid Onyx that has a grand observatory at its peak. After the aftermath of the Black Wave, one of the magi was able to relocate the entire tower to the Shadowfell just before the calamity, and now that is where the tower resides unable to bring it back to Elistus at this time. The remaining members in Taerfon have take up residence in Skyhorn Lighthouse, just outside of where Gilnaeth used to reside.

Motto: "Magic must be controlled to preserve the sanctity of civilization."

Beliefs: Magic must be governed, controlled, and watched over at all costs.

Goals:

To govern and control the laws of magic so as not to be abused.
To acquire unknown magics and items
To keep a detailed record of every magic-user.
To punish those that abuse the use of magic, how we see fit.

Knights of Antemosyne

The followers of Sir Dane Antemosyne. Purveyors of law and protectors of the realm. From time to time this faction is called on by Sir Antemosyne to handle delicate situations that he himself cannot attend to, but whenever the members are not running specific missions their members tend to be part of the guard, protection for hire, or any number of positions where they can keep up their fighting prowess and make sure order is kept wherever they roam.

Motto: "For those who cannot defend themselves we will be their sword and their shield."

Beliefs: The Knights of Antemosyne are your family, Order and Law must be kept at all costs, We are the sword and the shield of Sir Antemosyne.

Goals:

1. To keep faithful service to Sir Antemosyne
2. Keep order wherever we are
3. Protect the weak and the innocent

Order of the Silver Sword

Based in the city of Faeris, you can find the headquarters of the Silver Sword. This small and forgotten order was once tasked with dispatching any enemies that would come to their lands and bring harm to the people. With the rebirth of the city also brings this faction back into play, although unknown they will make it a point to reestablish themselves around Taerfon.

To fund their city they used to be sought out and asked for help in keeping villages and towns safe from the monsters outside. Upon completion, the Guardians would not take money, but instead one of their handlers (a man dressed in all black) would show up several days later to collect payment. Towns that fail to pay receive no further help from this Order.

Motto: "We are the hunters in the darkness."

Goals:

1. You must hold the Silver Sword above all else.
2. Whenever possible you must never kill a human.
3. To eliminate those who would do humans any harm.
Ranks

Guardian is a name known to the public that defines the warriors of the Silver Sword. They are normally female orphans (at a young age) who willingly undergo a painful process that changes their body. They have to endure a series of brutal training and a final actual test to prove their mettle. Those who successfully join the ranks of the Guardians are expected to be unwaveringly loyal to the Organization and adhere to its rules without exception.

Their rank is expressed by a number. Number 1 being the strongest member.
Whenever Guardians meet they state their Name, Accomplishments, and Rank number.
Each Guardian upon completion of their transformation is given a Silvered blade weapon (Which they become proficient with)
Handlers
Their primary function is to serve as messengers for new orders, allocate equipment to soldiers, and monitor that soldiers are following Silver Swords precepts, in addition to the responsibility of collecting fees after missions are completed."All handlers are usually identifiable by their all-black apparel
Retrieval Squad
A division of the Silver Sword which collects specimens of unknown creatures killed by the Guardians.
Guards
The Silver Sword also personally possess and employs black-clothed guards that seem to directly serve and receive their orders and commands directly from the Elders and serve as their personal bodyguards who protects their Main Base of Faeris when their Guardians are spread across the various regions of the land aside from these duties the guards also seem to be in charge of overseeing the field training of the trainee's and maintain control of them and generally follow the orders of the high ranked members of the Silver Sword.Favored Weapon: A silver glaive.Elders
The highest-ranking members of the Silver Sword. The 5 Elders decide the direction the order will take in all matters.

Relic
Takes a heavy interest in guiding the Elders, but whenever she leaves they are fully in charge of the faction

Greed

"The thief who robs, the baron who uses a contract to trick a poor farmer out of his land, the knight who kills to take a prize stallion."
Greed does not desire some but he desires all, the more greed wants the more he gets, and that is what this faction is based upon. With the gods uprising, a faction of Greed formed as quickly as did the god. Their structure involves much infighting, but they all serve the same goal to attain more power for their faction and for their god.

Motto: "Only fools keep empty pockets."

Beliefs: We serve Lord Fellox and in doing so we are given the power to rake what we desire.

Goals:

1. Claim valuable areas in the name of Greed.
2. Take valuable items from those not strong enough to stop them.

Rank Structure:

Copper: Initiates, greedy, but unrefined, this is where most start their journey to true greed.
Silver: Soldiers who move to see the will of the platinums done.
Gold: Priests who serve platinum, normally subtle people who steal with words instead of force.
Platinum: Dragons born from him, they recruit and command.
Fellox: God of Greed is their leader.
